Good day my beloved and Happy New year 🤭, I know Happy New year doesn’t sound sweet in February, but then the year is still fresh and just beginning.
Today’s nugget is based on Jeremiah chapter 17,verses 5-8. This scripture talks about two kinds of men, the cursed man and the blessed man.
I’m going to drop it in the King James Version first, and then I’d give you the Amplified translation ;
Jeremiah 17:5 – 8 KJV
5 – Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 – For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 – Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8 – For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Wow, this is very insightful and straight to the point. The choice is ours to make, if you want to be a cursed man, the formula is right here, if you want to be a blessed man, the formula is also clearly stated…
Let’s look at the Amplified Version, it’s a lot more beautiful there ;
Jeremiah 17:5-8 AMP
5 – Thus says the Lord , “Cursed is the man who trusts in and relies on mankind, Making [weak, faulty human] flesh his strength, And whose mind and heart turn away from the Lord .
6- For he will be like a shrub in the [parched] desert; And shall not see prosperity when it comes, But shall live in the rocky places of the wilderness, In an uninhabited salt land.
7- Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord And whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord .
8- For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit.
Wow, I love this translation, did you notice “spiritual security” in verse 7 ? 🔥
The whole point of today’s nugget is to remind us that we can never go wrong when we put our trust in God. So, ask yourself this question, “where is my trust?”
I would have said bye at this point, but just a little extra before I go, because I believe you are a blessed person😉.
Psalms 1:1-3 AMP
Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].
See you soon 😉
