Good day beloved and Happy Sunday. Today we are talking about trust.
Trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.
We are God’s children and He wants us to trust him, he wants us to have confidence in him at all times, in every situation.
The Lord brought his children, the Israelites out of Egypt by a mighty hand and led them through the wilderness. He was displeased when they did not trust him.
Hebrews 3: 7-11 NIV
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion,
during the time of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested and tried me,
though for forty years they saw what I did.
10 That is why I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”
Unbelief is a very terrible thing; it can rob one of God’s blessings.
Hebrews 3:12 “12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.”
The one who trusts in the Lord is blessed. Why would anyone not even trust God? Our trust in man should never surpass our trust in God. Our trust in him should be without borders, that is the best life , trust him with your finances, your emotions, your career, your future, your life, it’s the greatest assurance.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV
7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
I would end with this scripture from the book of Proverbs, it’s quite popular and it summarizes today’s nugget;
Proverbs 3: 5-6 NIV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
The Amplified version is really more amplified
Proverbs 3: 5-6 AMP
5 Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6 In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
Have a great week, may our trust in the Lord be without borders, Amen.
