Good afternoon to you, I trust you’re having a lovely weekend.
As God’s children, we cannot be disadvantaged, that’s the way I’ve been trained to think, it’s a confidence that is settled in my spirit and it helps me not to worry. No matter what is happening around me, even if it seems like the world is turning upside down, deep down I know that I cannot be disadvantaged and it can only work for my good.
Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
I love how Amplified Bible puts it, Romans 8:28 “And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” Like I always say, you can read up the whole chapter, it’s a whole meal.
Come to think of Joseph, if he had not been sold by his brothers, he wouldn’t have landed in Potiphar’s house, if Potiphar’s wife hadn’t set him up, he wouldn’t have found himself in prison, if he hadn’t been in prison, he probably wouldn’t have gotten Pharaohs attention and become Prime Minister in Egypt. All the seeming difficult situations he found himself in worked for a greater good for him.
When tough situations arise, we affirm God’s word knowing in our hearts that God loves us too much to let us be disadvantaged. We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit! This is actually one of the best things that happened to us as Christians, the Holy Spirit is in us is our advantage.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Maybe you just lost your job or you lost a relationship or you failed an exam or you’re being maltreated, whatever it is that came to steal your joy away, do not permit it. Always remain joyful because our joy is of the Lord and is independent of circumstances. We are certain that all things are working for our good, if you go down memory lane, I’m sure you’d come across previous difficult situations that birthed blessings, popularly called “blessing in disguise”. When I was posted to Abia State for my NYSC, I felt terrible, as you can see in my previous post Umunna Bende🌳🌴. I did not want it, but guess what! I can gladly say that serving in Abia State worked a lot in my favor, I literally wrote and birthed the vision of Aglow Blog during my NYSC, I had enough extra time to take online lessons on blogging and even video tutorials. Maybe if I had served in another state, I would have been too busy or too distracted to follow through with my blog. So now I’ve learnt to trust God without borders and remain joyful because the Lord has blessed me and nothing and no one can work against me. All things are working for our good! We cannot be disadvantaged! We have the victory in Christ! Hallelujah!
Have a beautiful week!
